Statement of Belief

Theology Proper

God has revealed Himself as a Trinity in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  He is three Distinctions yet One God in His unity (Deuteronomy 6; Matthew 28:19; 1Corinthians 8:6).   Each member of the Godhead has the same nature, attributes and perfections (Matthew 3:13-17; John 1:1-14; 10:30; 14:15-17; Hebrews 1:1-3).

God is the absolute and sole creator and sustainer of the universe.  The creation came about by divine command, from nothing, and not through an evolutionary process. His invisible attributes are clearly seen in that he revels Himself in His creation (Acts 17:24-28; Genesis 1-3; Romans 1:20; Psalms 19:1-4).

Bibliology

The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is supernaturally inspired, by divine revelation through the Holy Spirit who moved upon the writers who recorded the Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).  The Bible is inerrant in the original manuscripts.  God has preserved the Bible in its verbal and plenary inspiration in order that it is the divinely authoritative standard of living for every age and every life and should be viewed in the literal interpretation style. (Matthew 5:18; 1 Corinthians 2:13).

Christology

God foreknow by his sovereign choice and because He loved man, sent Christ into the world to save sinners. (John 3:16; I Tim. 1:15)

Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God, which is to say, Jesus Christ in the flesh is fully God and fully man.  He took upon Himself our nature, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. While upon the earth He taught and preformed mighty works, wonders and signs, exactly as it has been revealed in the four gospels.  After living a sinless life He died upon the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice.  His blood paid the penalty for our sins.  He arose from the dead in the body in which He was crucified three days earlier.  After forty days He ascended into heaven to be glorified.  At this present time He is sitting at the Father’s right hand acting as our interceding High Priest (Colossians 1:15; 1 John 4:2; Luke 1:34-35; John 21:25; Luke 24:6; Acts 1:9; Hebrews 9:11-12, 10:11-12).

Eschatology

We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Believers should watch and be ready to meet Him in the air (1 Corinthians. 15:51, 52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18).  He will first resurrect the dead believers then, for those who are alive at His coming He will trade corruptible bodies for glorified bodies so that we can meet Him in the air and be taken with Him to His father’s house (John 14:2).  This is referred to as the ‘Rapture’.

We believe that there will be a pre-tribulation ‘Rapture’, a seven year tribulation and the Premillennial reign of Christ that will be a literal one thousand years.  (Daniel 9:27; 1 Thessalonians 5:9; Luke 21:36; Revelation 20:4).  After the ‘Rapture’, there will be an unprecedented time of evil as never seen before in history.  The Antichrist will be revealed, set up his kingdom and deceive many into worshipping and serving him (Daniel 9:27; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-11).  At the end of the tribulation Christ will come with His heavenly army of believers defeat the Antichrist, deliver Israel, and condemn the unbelievers to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.  Afterwards He will set up His millennial Kingdom on earth and reign from Jerusalem. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51,52; Zechariah 9:11-17; Titus 2:11-13; John 14:1-6; Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 20:11-15; 2 Peter 3:10; Colossians 1:15; Philippians 2:5-8; Matthew 1:18-25; 1 Peter 2:24-25; Luke 24; Hebrews 4:14-15; Acts 1:9-11; Revelation 11:15-17, 20:4-6; Hebrews. 1:1,2; 7:25; Luke 1:30-35; Ephesians. 4:8; John 1:1-14; 14:3; Colossians 2:9; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Acts 1:3,11).  Christians will stand before the judgment seat of Christ and be evaluated according to our deeds so that we may be bestowed gifts for our just reward for our service. (Galatians. 5:16-26; Hebrews. 10:25; Ephesians 4:20-24; Hebrews 11:6; 12:1,2; John 17:17; Ephesians 6:18; Romans 8:29, 2 Corinthians 5:10)

Anthropology and Hamartiology

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but since Adam sinned the race fell, thus we inherit a sinful nature and are alienated from God.  All men are morally corrupted and since we have a sinful nature we are not able to remedy our lost condition. (Genesis 1:26, 27; Romans 1:18; 3:23; 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3, 12).

Soteriology

Therefore only the ones who believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ and His sacrifice alone will be saved.  Man is justified by grace through faith apart from works.  The reward of the believer is conscious glory and the punishment of the unbeliever is conscious in suffering (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:10, 23, 4:5, 6:34, 8:1, 38; John 3:3, 10:27-30; Ephesians 2:8-20; Acts 13:38-39; Matthew 25:46; 2 Corinthians 5:1; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10).

Ecclesiology

The Church is an elect company composed of all persons who are baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body through the saving grace of believing in Jesus Christ.  Separate from Israel we are all united together in the body of Christ.  He is the Lord and the Head. Our commission is for the God-given tasks of worshiping, fellowshipping, and teaching; as well as evangelism, and exercising spiritual gifts in order that we witness concerning Jesus Christ and preach the gospel among all nations.  (Acts 2:24, 15:13-17, 24:27, 41, 47; Romans 12:5; Ephesians 1:3-6, 22-23, 5:23-24; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:6-8).  The Church is organized into one body for the edification of believers and maintains a hierarchy for the operation of the Lord’s work (Acts 14:2; 1 Timothy 3:8; 1Corthinians 12).  As a Holy Nation representing Priest (1 Peter 2:9) a Christian should walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit and also keep in mind the goal of being conformed to the image of Christ. As a new creature in Christ we are to grow in faith, live in obedience to Scripture, be in prayer, and in fellowship with the Saints as we live a life of service.

Ordinances

We believe that the ordinances are water baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper as a memorial of His death. These are not to be regarded as a means of salvation but should be done in obedience to the Lord. (Matthew 28:19, 20; Acts 2:38; 8:12; 35-38; Luke 22:19,10; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29)

Pneumatology

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Distinction of the Godhead, possessing all the divine attributes of God. His role on earth is to convict of sin, regenerate, indwell, baptize, intercede in prayer, and seal all believers at the moment of their salvation.  He continues to fill believers in response to yielding to God with the goal of conforming believers to the image of Christ. (John 3:5; 15:26; 16:7-11; Romans 8:26; Ephesians 1:13; 4:30; 5:18; 1 Corinthians 6:19; 12:13).  The Holy Spirit endows gifts upon believers according to His will (1 Corinthians 12:4-11) to all who are afar of, as many as the Lord will call (Acts 2:39) until the perfect comes and the operation of some of the gifts is not necessary (1 Corinthians 13:10).

Angelology

We believe in the existence of Angels as they are defined in the Bible.  They fellowship in an intellectual way (1Peter 1:12) with God and with humans, as God wills (Luke 1:26-38), they show emotion (Job 38:7), and will (Isaiah 14:12-15).  They are distinct from man, not being made in God’s image (Job 38:7; Luke 20:36).  They are to serve God and protect people (Revelation 4:6-11; Psalms 34:7).
